Who Do You Love?

April 28th, 2010

Inspired by the new ABC/Washington Post poll numbers. They’re not great (especially if you’re an incumbent), but one thing they do demonstrably show is that Obama is significantly more trusted than the GOP.

The GOP likes to go on and on

About how they the People’s side are on.

They also believe the converse is true,

But alas for them, that isn’t true.

A recent poll shows that in spite of 15 months of GOP drama,

The American People still continue to trust President Obama

Much more than they trust the GOP,

As one from the statistics below can see.

Who do you trust to handle…

Congress. GOP

Financial regulation

Healthcare reform

The economy

Federal deficit

Even on the deficit (which Republicans have been flogging incessantly),

Obama is still more trusted than they are, incidentally.

And on healthcare reform, in spite of a year of GOP misinformation and lies,

Obama is significantly more trusted, to GOP surprise.

The gap is greatest on Wall Street regulation

(No surprise given the GOP’s fat cat inclination).

On the economy as a whole, the public also favors the Pres

In spite of what Fox News every night says.

A what about our current economic mess

That has caused so many Americans such distress?

In spite of constant GOP accusation,

Americans overwhelmingly blame the previous Administration.

Who is more responsible for current economy?

So in spite of constant misinformation by the GOP and “most trusted name in news

Spewing their inaccurate “facts” and biased views,

Most of the American public remains unconvinced

That the GOP a viable alternative has evinced.

Of course, the misguided faithful and/or insane are another matter altogether–

But you know what they say about birds of a feather.

Here’s your theme music , Who Do You Love (from the album of the same name) by George Thorogood and the Destroyers (the great Bo Didley did it first, but I prefer Thorogood’s version).
