Who is allowed to get married:
Terrorists
Rapists
Murderers
Child molesters
Convicted felons
Serial divorcers
Wife beaters
Husband beaters
People who want to have children
People who don’t want to have children
People who can’t have children
Religious people
Atheists
Pretty much everybody.
Who isn’t allowed to get married:
Siblings
Gays
There are good genetic reasons for not letting close relatives marry
(Noone has ever argued the contrary).
But gays? The only offered exposition
Is that it doesn’t fit the “traditional” definition.
Slavery too used to be a tradition
For most of human history (until its recent abolition).
Just because something’s a tradition doesn’t mean it’s right,
So let’s create a new tradition: equal marriage right.
