Inspired by Obama and Democrats appeal to new voters in midterms (Washington Post 4/26/10), Wash. Examiner ‘s ridiculous headline: “Obama disses white guys” (Media Matters 4/27/10), Washington Examiner: ‘Obama Disses White Guys’ (Huffington Post 4/27/10), and In political message wars, ‘race card’ has become salvo fired by all sides (WashingtonPost.com 5/06/10).
That minorities come out and vote.
That‘s what the respected (?) DC Examiner said:
“Obama disses white guys!” their headline read.
It’s OK when Republicans encourage minority votes
(Watch Rachel’s report below for some relevant quotes).
When Republicans say that, no one would demean it
Since everyone knows they don’t really mean it.
But when Obama says it, that’s playing the race card
And the echo chamber comes at him hard.
That’s not just racism, it’s the reverse,
And reverse racism is a whole lot worse.
The stalwart GOP voter is used to being pandered
And having his Congressional district racially gerrymandered.
But as we all know, reversing things from the way they should be is bad,
And should make any red-blooded (and white-skinned) American mad.
This is an unsettling trend, as I’m sure you agree,
So let’s restore racism to the way it’s supposed to be.
If we’re gonna have racism, it should be the regular old-fashioned kind:
Just racism against non-white’s, as it’s always been defined.
Of course, the Right starts bawling that they’re being slandered
When you point out they’re the ones with the double standard.
Here’s Obama’s racist statement (watch carefully or you might miss the blatant racism).
Here are Keith’s 4/27/10 and Rachel’s 4/28/10 reports.
Here’s Stephen Colbert’s 7/20/09 report on reverse racism.
