The Limbaugh Limbo

May 21st, 2010

A follow-up to our earlier post, Mentally Handicapped, inspired by Chris Matthews’ “Out on a Limbaugh” challenge (watch the video on that below).

Republican pols, it’s no use pretending:

You bend over backwards to avoid your Great Leader offending.

Is there any lingering doubt as to who that is?

If so, take this little quiz.

Do you agree with El Rushbo on everything?

If no, have you ever publicly criticized him on anything?

If yes, did you publicly apologize within 24 hours,

Abasing yourself before Rushbo’s super powers?

If you answered yes to the latter,

That in a nutshell closes the matter.

How low can Republicans go?

The apparent answer: pretty darn low.

Here’s Chris Matthews’ 5/11/10 and 5/13/10 “Out on a Limbaugh” challenge to any Republican leader to come on his show and stand up to El Rushbo. So far, no takers.

Here’s Chris Matthews’ 5/09/10 interview of Gov. Pataki (R-NJ) which gave rise to the challenge, which. Pataki rises to (no one else has though).

Here’s Chris Mattews on day 9 (5/20/10) of Hardball’s “Out on a Limbaugh” challenge, interviewing Jonahthan Alter about his new book on Obama’s first year, The Promise. Alter says that with the healthcare bill, Obama is already on par with only FDR and Lyndon Johnson in terms of domestic achievement. I can think of no more unlike pair of individuals than Obama and El Rushbo. In Rush’s case, opposites obviously detract…

Here’s the Current TV cartoon Rush (“Jabba the Rush”), with guest appearances by Michael Steele, Ann Coulter, Laura Ingraham, Meghan McCain, The Arnold, and others that are forced to abase themselves before the Great Leader… or suffer the consequences (check out Cartoon Characters for more).

Here’s your theme music, Limbo Rock by Chubby Checker (just a coincidence that he’s providing the theme music for a piece on Rush Limbaugh…).

Finally, to learn more about Rush, check out the reference book Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot (by SNL alum and now Senator Al Franken, on whose Air America show the aforementioned Jonathan Alter used to be a frequent guest), The Rush Limbaugh Story: Talent on Loan from God (An Unauthorized Biography) (which, by the way, you can as of this writing get used from Amazon for one penny, a very accurate indication of what the book’s worth), and by the Great Leader himself, How to Get Ahead in the GOP by Kissing My Ass (OK, so that’s not the real title, but it might as well be…).
