The (Gun) Show Must Go On

Inspired by In Tucson, gun dealers say show must go on (Washington Post 1/16/11), New gun laws not the answer, industry leaders say at show (Washington Post 1/20/11), and Tucson Shooting Largely Ignored At Nation’s Largest Gun Show This Week (Think Progress 1/23/11).


“We stand with all Americans in condemning this senseless act of violence—a truly horrible act that defies any sense of rationality or explanation.” – firearms industry spokesman Ted Novin at the Las Vegas gun show, explaining how everything’s OK since the attack was just the isolated “action of a mad-man.”


It’s called the Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show,

And the show must always go on, you know.


It’s the biggest gun show of the year.

Sales have skyrocketed due to buyers’ gun control fear.


Isn’t time to talk about gun control? Industry leaders say it’s not.

But what about the rest of us that just don’t want to get

SHOT.
