The Great PR(et)ENDA

May 31st, 2012

Inspired by the GOP’s latest attempt to restrict women’s reproductive rights, as described in House to begin debate Wednesday on bill banning abortions based on sex of child (WashingtonPost.com 5/30/12).

Republicans who say they want to keep girls from being aborted are pretending:

They’re really just interested in women’s reproductive rights gradually ending.

PRENDA would just be another anti-abortion rule

Which anti-choicers would use as a tool.

They’d use it to hound abortion-providers,

And fill up future legislation with more anti-abortion riders.

PRENDA would be like when they redefined rape to make it more forcible,

And wouldn’t even be practically enforceable.

So don’t be taken in by Republican pretenses

And hope that in November, GOP women come to their senses.
