Takeaway Message

February 9th, 2011

A follow-up to Not Raped Enough, Boehnercare, and Unreal Repeal, inspired by Abortion debate heats up in House (Washington Post 2/09/11).

Since the new Congress’s very first day,

The GOP focus has been on taking things away.

Since day one, they’ve done nothing but

Remove, eliminate, and cut.

Have healthcare coverage that you never had before?

The Repubs want to make sure you can’t get it any more.

Lucky enough to still have a job?

The GOP would like you of that privilege to rob.

Did you used to benefit from a tiny sliver of spending?

Sorry, but that program now is ending.

Did you not want to be forced to bear your rapist’s child?

Sorry, but the definition of rape is being restyled.

Think helping women get health services is good?

Sorry, we’re defunding Planned Parenthood.

The GOP wants to take all that away,

And that’s what they’ll do if they have their way.

What about the idea that now that they’re in the majority,

They’d have to act with more responsibility.

The GOP is still the Party of No,

So I guess the answer to that question is no.

Taking things away seems to be their only priority.

Why, it’s as easy as (H.R.) 1-2-3.
