Share Nice, Kids

Inspired by Democrats ask GOP for a shared Senate (Washington Post11/20/11 page B6). The last time the VA Senate was split (1996), Dems held the tie-breaking Lt. Gov’s office. Because the VA Constitution limits those tie-breaking situations, VA Dems shared power. Repubs are however arguing that that precedent and the VA Constitution don’t apply, and are trying to expand that tie-breaking authority to all votes and all committees.

 

What’s mine is mine,

And what’s yours is mine too.

Just don’t ask me to share
