They say America’s healthcare is the best

(That should make American exceptionalists glad).

Yes, America’s healthcare is exceptional

(That is, exceptionally bad).

A public option would reduce corporate profit

So Republicans don’t like it, and have worked hard to stop it.

Their way to do so involves all of us:

It’s by throwing the American people under the bus.

For a long time it seemed the public option bus had broken down

(Only a few even wanted to have it around).

But now, it’s back in service,

And all it wants is a chance to serve us.

But this may be it’s last stop,

And insurance companies are doing their best to stop

Any chance it has to get passed

When the final vote is cast.

It looks like we have this one last opportunity

To show some Democratic unity

By adding it into reconciliation

For the benefit of the Nation.

So Representatives and Senators, climb on board

And allow true choice in healthcare to be restored.

It’s the only bus going where we want to go.

Please don’t what may be our last chance blow.

It’s all come down to this decision.
