Inspired by N.Y. mayor decries ‘terror gap’ in U.S. gun laws (WashingtonPost.com 5/05/10), Bloomberg ‘Terror Gap’ Argument Shot Down By Pro-Gun GOP Senators (Huffington Post 5/05/10), Republicans “Protect Gun Rights For Terrorists” (Daily Kos 5/05/10), Lieberman Unveils Bill to Strip Citizenship (RollCall.com 5/06/10 1:51 p.m.), Here’s how Joe Lieberman’s citizenship-stripping bill would work (WashingtonPost.com 5/05/10), and the MSNBC reports below about the Republican response to the attempted Times Square bombing.

As Keith points out, if the Times Square bomber had wanted to,

He could have stopped on his way to the city to buy a few more guns too.

(In fact, he had recently bought a new Kel-Tec

After having passed a criminal background check.)

NYC Gov. Bloomberg has proposed a new twist

For people on Homeland Security’s no-fly list.

He (and most Dems) think that for people who are too dangerous to fly,

Shouldn’t be allowed, explosives and firearms to buy.

Senator Graham and others from the Party of Nope

Think that risks taking us down a slippery slope.

They think suspected terrorists should still be allowed to buy guns.

They don’t care about all Constitutional rights, just certain ones.

It’s OK, you see, to take their Miranda rights away,

Or better yet, let’s go all the way:

Sen. Lieberman (IINO-CT) and Scott Brown (R-MA) proposed (to right-wing fanfare)

That stripping citizenship from American’s who “associate” with foreign terrorists would be fair.

The Right likes Constitutional rights

(At least they like them alright).

But I guess it just wasn’t the right right

(For the Right).
