DC’s Annual Earthquake

A follow-up to Fault Lines and Waiting So Long (another one about Republicans blaming Obama), inspired by 5.8-magnitude earthquake in Virginia rocks Washington area, felt up and down East Coast (WashingtonPost.com 8/23/11 19:34).

We just had a 5.8 magnitude quake

Along the New Madrid Fault.

Republicans immediately issued statements

That it’s Obama’s fault.

The 3.6 pointer we had last July

Was then the biggest DC’d ever had.

If this trend continues,

The next one will be pretty bad.

I’ve lived in DC most of my life—

We never have earthquakes here.

Is it the new normal,

That we’ll now have one every year?

The National Cathedral suffered damage

To its spires and façade.

It looks like we’ve been downgraded again,

But this time, by Almighty God.
