The Vatican has decided to get tough
On American nuns who aren’t condemning abortion, birth control, and gays enough.
Unlike priests raping young boys, this issue is serious,
And it’s effect on the Catholic Church dangerously deleterious.
Not only that, nuns have sometimes engaged in public quarrels
With the “church’s authentic teachers of faith and morals.”
That’s right—the nuns have in the past occasionally publicly refused
To kowtow to those who covered up how priests all those boys had abused.
Some of those very Bishops could also at one time
Themselves have been guilty of that horrible crime.
Bishops the “faith and morals” guarantor?
Yeah, because that worked so well before.

Speaking of nuns, priests, and their relative moral standards, here’s the trailer for Doubt. Meryl Streep plays a nun and Catholic school headmistress who suspects one of the priests (played by Philip Seymour Hoffman) is sexually abusing students. It’s a very powerful movie.
