Shep Steps Up

December 21st, 2010

A follow –up to Jon Stewart’s (and my) attack on Fox News for previously not giving GOP blockage of the 9-11 Responders bill the attention it deserves, inspired by Shepard Smith Unloads On Blockers Of 9/11 Responders Bill: ‘How Do They Sleep At Night?’ (Huffington Post 12/18/10).

“How do they sleep at night after this vote on Ground Zero first responders from 9/11? Are they going to get that done, or are we going to leave these American heroes out there to twist in the wind?” — Shep Smith on Fox News about the Republicans blocking the 9-11 first responders bill
“All hail Shep Smith at Fox News and I’m not kidding. Because Fox News can get callbacks from Republican senators most of the time… Shep Smith making a hullabaloo on his show about the Republicans who are not supporting health care for 9/11 first responders means that those Republicans might feel compelled to explain publicly why they don’t support health care for 9/11 first responders.” – Rachel Maddow

GOP obstruction on the 9-11 responders bill made Shep Smith wince

So he finally broke the Fox News silence.

As Fox News anchors go, I have to say I admire him.

Did reading my post on the subject inspire him?

When Shep Smith and Rachel Maddow on something agree,

You know something’s really wrong with the GOP.

Normally, GOP extremists in Fox’s embrace bask,

But this time, Senator Tom Coburn and others were taken to task.

Here’s Rachel’s 12/21/10 report praising Fox’s Shep Smith for coming out against GOP obstruction of the bill and taking Senator Coburn to task for his obstruction and lies.
