Rolling Blunder

September 21st, 2012

A follow-up to (M)it(t) Gets Better and Mitt Romney CAN Save America, inspired by Romney Needs a New CEO (Peggy Noonan, WSJ.com 9/20/12 21:09).

“The Romney campaign has to get turned around. This week I called it incompetent, but only because I was being polite. I really meant ‘rolling calamity.’” – Peggy Noonan

The Romney campaign has become a “rolling calamity”

(On the plus side, Mitt still has Sean Hannity.)

Ms. Noonan, I’ll do you one better

(Perhaps I too can become a trendsetter).

Instead of “rolling calamity,” I wonder,

Why not call it “Rolling Blunder”?

My advice, Mitt: drop the swagger,

And never go full Teabagger.

Here’s Sean Hannity defending Romney’s 47% remark, which Hannity calls a “godsend.”

For those too young to remember, Operation Rolling Thunder was the 1968 Air Force/Navy joint bombing campaign during the Vietnam War. There was also the 1977 movie (watch the trailer below) Rolling Thunder about a returning Vietnam Vet (it was one of Quentin Tarantino’s favorites), which 2008’s Tropic Thunder paid homage to in its parody of the genre. (A propos, Mitt: Never go full Teabagger.)
