Retraction

July 1st, 2012

A follow-up to Pioneers, inspired by Romney seeks Washington Post retraction (Politico 6/27/12) and Mitt Romney demands a retraction (Patrick Pexton7/01/12 A19).

Mitt wants a retraction for a Post report he claims is misleading.

Has he his own speeches and campaign materials been reading?

Mitt, the Post story was well-documented and completely true,

Which is a lot more than I can say about you.

Why don’t you take out a national ad retracting everything you’ve said that’s wrong.

(It would only have to be about 7 hours long.)

The Romney campaigns demand for a retraction is based on the theory that although Bain did invest in firms that “pioneered” outsourcing (both within the US and overseas), while Mitt was still at Bain, those firms just focused on the domestic outsourcing. Outsourcing overseas (or “offshoring”) didn’t happen until after Romney left. That’s like saying that Bain invested to create a professional assassination firm, but that the firm didn’t actually start assassinating people until after Mitt left Bain. So it’s not his fault, right?
