Release the Kagan
August 6th, 2010
Inspired by Elena Kagan CONFIRMED To Supreme Court, Jeff Sessions Predicts Kagan Will Be A ‘Radical’ On The Supreme Court (Huffington Post 8/05/10), and Senate confirms Kagan as justice (Washington Post 8/06/10).
Let the activist judging begin:
The Senate has confirmed Elena Kagan.
Only five Republicans voted for her,
While the rest incessantly deplored her.
In fairness, five yes votes is really a GOP landslide,
Given the depths of the partisan divide.
Still, that number stands in sharp relief
To the exactly half of Senate Dems that voted for the current Chief.
Roberts said he’d be an impartial umpire, but he’s proved anything but.
Instead, he’s added to the Court’s right wing glut.
Republicans claim Kagan will do the same on the left,
But that view is of any proof bereft.
No matter what the likes of Jeff Sessions say,
Kagan’s clearly not the leftist monster that Republicans portray.
