Pro-life AND Pro-Choice?

January 27th, 2010

Inspired by Tim Tebow rushes into the abortion debate and Under God: Should CBS pull the Tebow ad? (WashingtonPost.com1/27/10).

Pam Tebow’s decision to have her son Tim was a choice

About which Tim and his fans rightly rejoice.

But for Tim to be the poster child anti-choicers portray,

His mom’s choice would have had to have been taken away.

In spite of the right’s continual distortion,

One can be pro-abortion rights and not pro-abortion.

As President Bill Clinton did famously declare,

Abortion should be legal, safe, and rare.

The best way to limit abortion is education and birth control,

Not the most intrusive possible government control.

Do the people at anti-abortion rallies

Really want to return to coat-hangers and dirty back alleys?

I don’t think the Superbowl ad should be cut out,

But I do think we should remember what it’s really about.

Here’s the Focus on the Family ad about the Lebows scheduled to air for the Superbowl.
