Inspired by Bain’s firms sent jobs overseas: Romney oversaw investments (Tom Hamburger,Washington Post6/22/12 page A1).

“During the nearly 15 years that Romney was actively involved in running Bain, a private equity firm that he founded, it owned companies that were pioneers in the practice of shipping work from the United States to overseas call centers and factories making computer components, according to filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission.” – Washington Post

200 years ago, Americans embarkened

To explore and settle New Frontiers that our people harkened.

They sought new opportunities and new lives,

And built a vibrant economy in which the middle class thrives.

(Maybe that should be “thrived,” in the past tense,

Since those days now seem to be gone, for all intents.)

They didn’t know exactly where they were going, just the general direction,

Banding together with other pioneers for mutual support and protection.

They built farms, cities, and towns on the way,

And made America what it is today.

Pioneers built this nation, and made it great.

They’re the ones who jobs actually create.

Other pioneers continued that tradition,

Creating industries that vaulted Americainto a leadership position.

Mitt Romney and Bain created a new kind of pioneer

To take America across a new frontier.

(Actually, they were just taking American jobs over there—

How that affected workers and communities, they just didn’t care.)

Of course, it’s not those companies’ fault, or Mitt’s:

It’s what they had to do to make giant profits.

I guess it depends on what you’re pioneering,

Or in this case, profiteering.

America, let’s bring the jobs–and our future—back.

Go forward with Obama, not with Mitt: back.
