One in a Thousand

September 17th, 2011

Inspired by Area may have had ‘1,000-year rainfall’ (Washington Post 9/17/11).

When humanity with the global climate interferes,

You get weather events supposed to happen every hundred years.

Might that at least in part explain

Why last week DC got a thousand year rain?

That means that since Jesus’s time,

It’s only rained that hard one other time.

Now we’re getting rains that are supposed to be millennial.

Will they too soon become perennial?

Will we be getting “1,000 year” weather events regularly before long,

Before Republicans finally stop denying that something’s wrong?
