Next Time, Listen to God

January 19th, 2012

A follow-up to In God’s Time and God to Perry: Don’t Run, inspired by How Rick Perry’s not-ready-for-prime-time campaign came to grief (Dan Balz, WashingtonPost.com 1/19/12).  All true, Dan, but you missed the real reason Rick Perry withdrew from the race.

“God sends messages through a lot of ways.” – Rick Perry back in July

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” — Ecclesiastes 3:1

Governor Perry:

Both God and I told you not to run,

And now, as foretold, your time is done.

Sure, you made lots of other mistakes

And may never have had what it takes.

But you and I both know, that’s not the real reason:

It’s because you did not respect God’s season.

And as 2 Corinthians 4:7 clearly meant,

You weren’t destined to be the 44th President.

If you’d listened to your Father in Heaven,

You could have been number 47.

Now, due to your disobedience and pride,

Even that reward may be denied.

He who God’s will would circumvent

Will never, ever be President.

Here’s Rick Perry in a radio interview back in July. Yes, Governor Perry, God does send messages. You just weren’t listening.
