Inspired by GOP Rep. Louie Gohmert: Guns Are Necessary To Protect Against Sharia Law (Mediaite 5/21/13).
“I am well informed that upon Long Island and Connecticut they are setting upon a woolen manufacture, and I myself have seen serge, made upon Long island, that any man may wear. Now, if they begin to make serge, they will, in time, make coarse cloth and then fine. How far this will be for the service of England, I submit to better judgments; but, however, I hope l maybe pardoned if I declare my opinion to be that all these Colloneys, which are but twigs belonging to the main tree–England–ought to be kept entirely dependent upon and subservient to England, and that can never be if they are suffered to go on in the notions they have that, as they are Englishmen, soe they may set up their same manufactures here as people may do in England; for the consequence will be, if once they can see they can cloathe themselves, not only comfortably but handsomely too, without the help of England, they, who are not very fond of submitting to government, would soon think of putting in execution designs they had long harboured in their breasts. This will not seem strange, when you consider what sort of people this country is inhabited by.” — colonial governor of New York Lord Cornbury in 1705 to the British Board of Trade “[The Second Amendment] is for our protection and the Founders’ quotes make that very, very clear. Including against a government that would run amuck. We’ve got some people that think sharia law should be the law of the land — forget the Constitution. But the guns are there, that Second Amendment is there, to make sure all of the rest of the amendments are followed.” — Rep. Louie Gomert radio interview yesterday
Did the Founding Fathers the Second Amendment intend
America from Muslim extremists to defend?
In his effort, Muslim extremists with Colonial America to link,
That’s what Louie Gomert appears to think.
Perhaps Gomert is just a little confused
About the terms he used.
Right-wingers get ”Muslim” and “Muslin” mixed up mixed up a lot:
The Founders didn’t see Muslims as an extremist threat
(That brand of tea wasn’t invented yet).
There weren’t many Muslims around to instill anti-Muslim hate;
Colonials fought the Brits, not the Islamic Caliphate.
But there was lots of Muslin textile.
Could that be why Rep. Louie is hostile?
Muslin was part of a British plot to keep America economically dependent
And keep us from being able to become independent
(And to financially benefit the British and colonial 1 percent).
Muslin was an colonialist tool,
Meant to replace good old American homespun wool.
(It’s kind of like Sharia, but with material:
American-made versus imposed Imperial.)
Muslin originally came from the city of Mosul, Iraq,
So maybe there is a Muslin/Muslim extremist attack.
Want more proof? Michelle Obama has installed Muslin curtains in the White House,
Which proves that Muslin extremists anti-American views espouse.
Muslin has also infiltrated even American Heritage Chocolate,
So be afraid, America: be afraid a lot.
And Rep. Gomert, thanks for not letting us the Founders’ wisdom forget,
And keep up your fight against the Muslin threat.
