Inspired by  Highest Duty  (Captain “Sully” Sullenberger’s 2009 book), “What I Got Back” (Sully Sullenberger, Parade Magazine 10/11/09), and Jon Stewart’s 10/13/09 Daily Show interview (watch it below). On Jan. 25 2009, Captain “Sully” Sullenberg landed crippled US Airways flight 1549 on the Hudson. All 155 passengers were saved.

     This poem is commemorating

The people who died on January 25, 2009

When flight 1549 ditched in the Hudson.

The number of people who died was… none.

     Thanks mostly to you, Captain Sully.

Everyone was rescued fully.

God knows,

We need more such heroes.
