Mass. Effect: Retribution (or, Thanks Scott Brown)
March 24th, 2010
A continuation of our “Mass Effect” series, inspired by the video game novel of the same name.
Healthcare and reconciliation has been passed and signed,
But Republicans to their loss are unresigned.
Their anger is so out-of-control they can’t conceal it.
They’ve already started talking about how they plan to repeal it.
Not long ago, they’d crow and crow;
Now, they’re forced to eat that crow.
They thought they had healthcare reform beat.
That reversal makes Dems’ victory all the more sweet.
Thanks, Scott Brown, especially to you:
We couldn’t have done it without your help too.
If you hadn’t won your special election,
There would have been more special deals to prevent Dem defection.
Your victory forced us to move ahead
With a much more direct method instead.
Reconciliation turned out to be a much better way.
So thank you, Scott, for saving the day.
There’s a saying that never gets old:
Revenge is a dish that’s best served cold.
Not that we passed healthcare reform just for retribution,
But that’s a nice side benefit for that Continuing Resolution.

Here’s Senator Dodd on Countdown 3/24/10 agreeing that my earlier post saying that Dems were better off without that 60th vote was right (unfortunately, he doesn’t mention my blog by name).
Here’s your theme music for today, Retribution by Biohazard (see the lyrics below, which I think appropriately describe the deceptive GOP attempt to defeat healthcare reform).
