Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds

As reported by “Lucy of ‘Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds’ Fame Dies” and “RIP Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” (Washington Post 9/28/09), Lucy Vodden (inspiration for the Beatles song “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” died Sep. 22 at age 46 after a long battle with lupus. Many thought Lennon wrote it about LSD
But his son Julian said they’re wrong.
When Julian was 4 he drew a picture
Of a girl flying in the sky.
His dad asked him what it was
“Lucy in the sky with diamonds,” was his reply.
