Inspired (by which I mean disgusted) by the attack in Cairo on CBS’s Lara Logan and right-wing commentator Debbie Schlussel’s reaction to it.
“So sad, too bad, Lara. No one told her to go there. She knew the risks. And she should have known what Islam is all about. Now she knows… This never happened to her or any other mainstream media reporter when Mubarak was allowed to treat his country of savages in the only way they can be controlled. Now that’s all gone. How fitting that Lara Logan was ‘liberated’ by Muslims in Liberation Squarewhile she was gushing over the other part of the ‘liberation.’ Hope you’re enjoying the revolution, Lara! Alhamdilllullah [praise Allah].” – Debbie Schlussel, How Muslims Celebrate Victory: Egypt’s “Peaceful, Moderate, Democratic” Protesters
You were raped
(If only it had been taped).
The only thing arguably worse than the actual infraction
Was the Revolting Right’s disgusting reaction.
Debbie Schlussel reacts with glee–
It’s “fitting” that Logan was treated so brutally.
And the Right is more than willing to condemn
All protesters, all Egyptians, all Muslims (“them”),
At the same time they themselves furiously insist
They not be criticized for the “minority” of haters in their midst.
That someone would say something like this is beyond belief.
Sorry Debbie, but you win the prize for Hater-in-Chief.
Here’s Lawrence O’Donnell’s 2/16/11 report on the sexual assault on CBS’s Lara Logan and right-wing commentator Debbie Schlussel’s disgusting schadenfreude.
