It Gets Better

October 15th, 2010

Inspired by Fort Worth City Councilman Joel Burns, who was moved to make this statement by the recent string of gay bullying suicides. Adolescnece is rough for everyone, so what Burns says is a good message for anyone going through those (or other) painful years. But that’s especially true for gay teens, or people that the bullies think are gays. If you have a heart (which I think is the vast majority of Americans), you can not help but be moved by this heartfelt statement. But for the small minority of bullies, and those that encourage them by creating and/or legitimizing a culture of hatred and intolerance, you should be ashamed.

I can’t improve on what Councilman Burns said

So just watch the video below instead.

Here’s  Fort Worth City Councilman Joel Burns.

PS: Also check out this very worthwhile new blog on the subject, Stop the Hate Stop the Hurt.
