I’ll Put a Hold on You
March 18th, 2010
Senator Tom Coburn has told Dems who previously voted against healthcare reform that if they commit the ultimate sin of voting for the bill and they then lose their seats (as Republicans assure them will happen, since as we all know, voters hate and will continue to hate healthcare reform). If they are then “rewarded” with an Executive position, Coburn will take revenge: he (and I guess other GOP Senators) will put a hold on their nominations.
Senator Tom Coburn is touchingly concerned
That Dems for their support of healthcare will be burned.
But I’d be more impressed with Senator Coburn
If he weren’t the one responsible for the burn.
He threatened any Dem who previously opposed
Who votes for the reform bill now proposed,
That if they then face defeat,
Lose their erstwhile safe Senate seat,
And are then nominated for an Executive occupation,
Republicans will then put a hold on that nomination.
Senator, when you’re finished with your pout,
You may be happy to know you’ve now removed all doubt
That there might still be some spiteful tricks
Beyond the pale of the GOP’s petty politics.
