Healthcare Reform’s Slippery Slope
September 6th, 2009
The Democrats (at least some of us) wanted Single Payer
But when faced with the Republican and Blue Dog naysayer
Agreed to have a public option
(or at least “agreed” was our assumption).
But the health insurance industry resisted,
And its lackeys in Congress assisted
Another concession to make us give,
So they proposed the cooperative.
Cooperatives would be easy to control.
But then, seeing themselves on a roll
Big Health decided they didn’t like those either,
And now it looks like we’ll get neither.
Slippery slope,
Or just another way of saying “nope”?
