He Still Doesn’t Care About You

September 18th, 2012

A follow-up to I Don’t Care, Contempt and Mitt Romney, POTOP, inspired by Mitt Romney’s secret fundraising video.

“There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it…These are people who pay no income tax…And so my job is not to worry about those people. I’ll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives.” – Mitt Romney in leaked fundraising meeting video

If you’re not one of the 47% Mitt said he despised,

You may that Mitt cares about you have surmised.

Let me clarify that potential confusion

And dispel your unfortunate delusion.

Just because Mitt despises a group that doesn’t include you,

Doesn’t mean he doesn’t despise you too.

All Mitt meant with that inopportune quote

Is that he temporarily needs your vote.

If elected, he’ll then immediately return

To caring only about those who super-high incomes earn.

 Here’s the video.

Here’s your theme music, a musical rendition of Mitt’s level of concern for the 99%: Jimmy Crack Corn by Burl Ives (for you youngsters out there, he voiced the snowman in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer), followed by the Smothers Brothers and Eminem versions.
