Getting Chu’d Out

October 28th, 2011

A follow-up to Failure is a Bastard, But Who’s the Bitch? and Baloney Capitalism, inspired by For Chu, lessons in political science (Washington Post10/28/11).

“As President, I would have fired Secretary Chu for so grossly mismanaging taxpayer dollars.” — Newt Gingrich

“Grossly mismanaging federal dollars” is something Newt knows all about

Because that’s one of the reasons he was thrown out.

All the Repubs are piling on Energy Secretary Chu,

As they in these kinds of situations like to do.

They want to use Solyndra to bring Obama down,

But at the least they’d like to runChuout of town.

Of course, as pundits have pointed out (correctly),

Attacking Chu is just a way to attack Obama (indirectly).

And it’s ironic that the DOE loan program of which they’re now so critical

Was to the Repubs who wanted their own projects funded then so critical.

And Mr. Ex-Speaker Gingrich, maybe it’s best that some more time elapses

Before you accuse others of ethical and competency lapses.

You know what it’s like to be chewed out by Congress and relentlessly attacked

(Too bad for your candidacy that you can’t that admission of guilt retract).

Thanks for your comments, Red Nation. It’s nice to know that I’m not alone and oterhs are ready to get refocused on the goals at hand.Bubbi, I obviously worded some of that post badly… I didn’t mean that every Christian Conservative lets his/her religion dictate his/her political standing. I know many Conservatives who don’t miss church on a Sunday but do not let them interfere with their opinions on government/political issues.I, too, am sorry that the mid-terms became an attack-fest on Bush that caused people to vote based on his popularity rather than the merits of the individual candidates. I think he’s done a good job prosecuting a war that he did not ask for, one that had been declared on us before he ever took office. I only wish he’d been true to the bedrock of Conservative values.Let’s hope Newt runs — I can’t wait to work locally for him if he decides to give it a shot!
