Crazy (or, Boehner Says Only 25% of Teabaggers are Homicidal Anarchists)

July 23rd, 2010

Inspired by the latest round of crazy statements from the Right.

“Let me tell you about these events. Yea, there are some disaffected Republicans there. There are always some Democrats there. Always a couple of anarchists who want to kill all of us in office. But I’ll tell you this: 75 percent of these people who show up at these events are the most average, everyday Americans you ever met.” – House Minority Leader John Boehner describing Tea Party rallies
“I think all we should do is issue subpoenas and have one hearing after another, and expose all the nonsense that has gone on.” – Michele Bachmann (R-MN) on what the GOP should do if they win the November election
“What is wrong with us America? Why are people not in the streets? Your republic is over.” – Glenn Beck, hysterically angry, talking about how the financial reform bill has destroyed America

How do they think up this stuff?

Did their staffs think they weren’t already crazy enough?

Minority Leader Boehner, I fear you speak the truth,

Though that may not something they’ll like north of Duluth.

I always thought some Teabaggers were homicidal and/or anarchist.

By saying so publicly have you Tea Party support goodbye kissed?

(That would be the case if these modern day Birchers

That aura of intimidation and violence which the Tea Party nurtures.)

Michele “Queen Crazy” Bachmann, you’ve never been so honest before–

Now we don’t have to speculate on GOP strategy anymore.

You say the GOP should do nothing but subpoenas to issue.

The question of your fitness to govern should no longer be an issue.

And you, Mr. Tea Party Mad Hatter,

Hysterically screaming as you your papers scatter:

The country’s destroyed by partially undoing Bush’s deregulating?

Tell me, Glenn, when are you emigrating?

If this is what we’re up against this election season,

Is it a lost cause to appeal to reason?

Maybe I’m crazy for trying,

But I too love my country (without Glenn’s fake crying).
