Cover of the Rolling Stone

A follow-up to yesterday’s post, Not McChrystal Clear.
Gen. McChrystal has been cashiered,
And field commander Petraeus has reappeared.
Petraeus is a brilliant choice,
Though he himself in the assignment doesn’t rejoice.
He already made his Middle East bones in Iraq,
Which he puts at risk by going back.
Obama is getting plaudits for decisiveness
And putting a stop to further divisiveness.
He has strongly reaffirmed civilian control of the military
As an important part of our Constitutional system (very).
And Gen. McC, your career appears to be blown.
And you didn’t even make the cover of the Rolling Stone.
