Binder Full of Women

October 17th, 2012

Inspired by Mitt’s “binders full of women” comment.

“I had the chance to pull together a cabinet, and all the applicants seemed to be men. So I said ‘gosh, can’t we find some women that are also qualified,’ and they brought us whole binders full of women.” – Mitt Romney at town hall debate

Too bad there wasn’t a camera on Mitt’s minders

When he started talking about binders.

I would have liked to see their expressions

As Mitt committed one more of his famous indiscretions.

But “binders full of women” is more than a gaffe,

Good for more than just a laugh.

The “binders” comment made so much news

Because it’s indicative of Mitt Romney’s views.

“We don’t need government to protect women’s rights:

Just trust Big Business to do what’s right.”

“We don’t need laws requiring fair pay:

Just trust employers not to underpay,”

Women don’t need legal protection to get fair shakes:

Nice guys like me and binders are all it takes.

Not only that, but Mitt actually lied:

It wasn’t at his request that those binders were supplied.

They were provided by a women’s group to both Mitt and his opponent,

Which contradicts Mitt’s self-portrayal as determined equal-hiring proponent.

So don’t fall for Mitt’s magic spell:

Trusting Republicans with women’s rightsnever works out well.

Here’s Romney’s “binders full of women” comment, followed by the parody best video/song I’ve come across…so far.

Here’s your theme song, Black Magic Woman by Santana. Try singing along with my modified lyrics below.

Black Magic Woman

Binder Full of Women

I got a Black Magic Woman. I got a binder full o’ women.
I got a Black Magic Woman. I got a Binder full o’ women.
Yes, I got a Black Magic Woman, Yes, I got a Binder full o’ women,
She’s got me so blind I can’t see; I’m so pro-woman I can’t see;
But she’s a Black Magic Woman and But this Binder full o’ women will
she’s trying to make a devil out of me. Make an affirmative action hirer out of me.

Don’t turn your back on me, baby. Don’t turn your back on me, baby.
Don’t turn your back on me, baby. Don’t turn your back on me, baby.
Yes, don’t turn your back on me, baby, Yes, don’t turn your back on me, baby,
Don’t mess around with your tricks; Don’t fall for those Democrat tricks;
Don’t turn your back on me, baby, Don’t turn your back on me, baby:
’cause you might just wake up my magic sticks. Vote for me and all those other Repub pricks.

You got your spell on me, baby. You don’t need fair pay, baby
You got your spell on me, baby. You don’t need fair pay, baby
Yes, you got your spell on me, baby, No, you don’t need fair pay, baby
Turnin’ my heart into stone; ‘Cause this War on Women’s overblown.
I need you so bad, But I need your vote so bad,
Magic Woman I can’t leave you alone. Binder Woman, I can’t leave you alone.
