Bin Laden’s Nightmare

February 11th, 2011

A follow-up to The Coming Caliphate, inspired by the victory of freedom and peaceful protest in Egypt.

“They have already won. But this scene of winning peacefully the way they have is Bin Laden’s nightmare. And if they fail, it will be our nightmare.” — University of Maryland Prof. Shibley Telhami

President Hosni Mubarak is gone,

And the people of Egypt have won.

I think America has won too,

After all, I like People Power. Don’t you?

Freedom is what we are as a people,

So of course we’re on the side of the Egyptian people.

Thankfully, it happened without much killing,

And will continue to, God willing.

And to you idiots on the American far right wing

Who see anti-American conspiracy in everything:

How can you this inanity believe?

Isn’t this exactly what George Bush wanted to achieve?

Sure, there are dangers out there, and no guarantees,

But why insist on turning possible friends into enemies?

So cheer up—don’t despair.

Egypt is not our but Bin Laden’s nightmare.

Be happy, for once; let go of your fear and hate.

Remember that Freedom and God can both be great.
