Inspired by Rush Limbaugh’s explanation of something I’d never understood before: how President Obama could be BOTH Socialist AND Fascist at the same time.
As we all know, Obama’s a fascist,
And at the same time, a socialist.
I never understood how he could be both simultaneously,
But the Sage of Rage has now explained it perfectly.
Socialists, you see, seek to separate the have nots from the haves,
Thus dividing society into two economic halves.
Fascists seek to divide people by race
(Unfortunately now increasingly commonplace).
You, Mr. Limbaugh, have your own brilliant technique,
A patent on which I recommend you seek.
You separate people by intelligence and gullibility
Based on their view of your believability.
There, that’s my indictment.
Now you can go back to your incitement.
Here’s Keith’s 4/30/10 “Worst Person” report on Rush (I think he should have gotten the “worsest”).
Here’s Rachel’s 4/30/10 report on an earlier interview with FAIR President Dan Stein about whether “it would be better to encourage the breeding of more intelligent people rather than less intelligent” (at 3’15 in the segment), followed by the trailer for a very funny movie that discusses that very subject, Idiocracy. I’m not in favor of intelligence-based eugenics, but I wouldn’t think that the Far Right would be either, since it could seriously cut into their base…
And here’s your theme music and our title’s inspiration, American Idiot (from the album of the same name; there’s also a broadway musical) by Green Day, including a bonus reference to our own alien nation. Warning: explicit lyrics.
And what discussion of this topic would be complete without reference to Satan’s Acolyte’s book Arguing with Idiots. For any Beck fans who happen to be reading my blog and prefer not to actually read, here’s the audio-book version (or, get this related audio-book by Glenn, Idiots Unplugged). For my regular liberal listeners, I do NOT recommend you buy any of these things (unless you need to do so for some anti-Beckian purpose, like shredding it on your own blog); buy this one instead. And for some light reading about The Sage himself, check out Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot (by SNL alum and now Senator Al Franken) and The Rush Limbaugh Story: Talent on Loan from God (An Unauthorized Biography).
