You’re Fired
January 9th, 2012
Inspired by the joy of firing and fear of being fired, as experienced by Willard M. Romney.
“I know what’s it’s like to worry whether you’re going to get fired. There were a couple of times I wondered whether I was going to get a pink slip.” — Mitt on the campaign trail yesterday
“Now, I have no doubt Mitt Romney was worried about pink slips — whether he was going to have enough of them to hand out because his company, Bain Capital, of all the jobs that they killed.” – Rick Perry
“I like being able to fire people who provide services to me.” — Mitt today inNew Hampshire
Mitt Romney is frequently inspired
By the thought of people getting fired.
He knows what it’s like, just like me and you
Because of all the people he’s done it to.
He sought pathos by saying he worried he’d be canned
And would experience unemployment first hand.
(In reality, Romney took the Bain job on the condition
That he had a nice golden parachute and fallback position.)
Soon after talking about his fear of a pink slip,
Romney unfortunately let this tidbit slip:
I like firing people, he said with a smile–
He only regrets not being able to do it for a while.
Rick Perry said that what Romney was worried about
Was running out of pink slips to hand out.
But if Mitt’s elected Pres, he’ll have that chance again
With all the people his policies will put out of work then.

Here’s the video clip of Mitt’s “I like to be able to fire people” statement. In fairness, he was talking about insurance companies. In further fairness, what he said about insurance companies was wrong too.
