Sound the Retweet (or, Gurgle for the Gulf)
June 17th, 2010
Inspired by the Colbert Nation uprising to save the Gulf.
The Gulf of Mexico is taking a beating
You can help save it, just by tweeting.
When it comes to the environment, we should never retreat,
Which is why Stephen Colbert has sounded the retweet
Comedy Central will donate a dollar per tweet to the Gulf of America Fund,
Up to $50K in addition to BP’s refund.
The Colbert Nation has heeded its leader’s call
To help save the pelicans and turtles and all.
So click here to retweet and retweet some more—
Tweet like you’ve never tweeted before.
It’s a small step, but a step nonetheless,
And every little bit counts to clean up the mess.

Here’s Stephen sounding the reweet.

Here’s 300’s Leonides’ “no retreat, no surrender” speech. The equally brave (and ripped) leader of our Coldbert Nation calls on us to do our part as well, but you don’t need to give our last breath for the cause—never retreat, just retweet.
