Inspired by Bill’s foes see a test for definition of rape (Washington Post 2/01/11) about the proposal by a group of Republicans to narrow the “rape exception” for federally funded abortions to “forcible” rapes involving violence, and the “incest exception” to minors only. “The limitations established in sections 301, 302, 303, and 304 shall not apply to an abortion–

(1) if the pregnancy occurred because the pregnant female was the subject of an act of forcible rape or, if a minor, an act of incest; or

(2) in the case where the pregnant female suffers from a physical disorder, physical injury, or physical illness that would, as certified by a physician, place the pregnant female in danger of death unless an abortion is performed, including a life-endangering physical condition caused by or arising from the pregnancy itself.” – Not Raped Enough Anti-Abortion Rights Act

Can you be forced to have your rapist’s baby?

If House Republicans get their way, maybe.

If the bill passes, the rape exception won’t be enforceable

Unless the rape was adequately forcible.

It’s won’t be enough to just be raped–

Your face must be bloodily reshaped.

Based on what House Republicans have stated,

You can’t just be sexually violated.

Make sure your rapist beats you severely.

(A few slaps wouldn’t be good enough; not nearly.)

“No” doesn’t mean no anymore.

If you didn’t fight back, you’re just a whore.

Or maybe you fight back, but just not enough.

Don’t want to carry the baby? Sorry, but that’s tough.

The incest exception now applies only if you’re a minor;

Unless you’re legally an adult, that difference is minor.

But if you’re 18 or over when the incest is committed,

No “federally funded” abortion is permitted.

So if a male relative rapes you, make sure it’s before you’re 18.

That will let you the GOP restriction circumvene.

For adult victims of incest, this may seem unfair,

And Republicans don’t want you to think they don’t care.

So if you’re over 18 and a male relative sexually abuses you,

You can restore the exception by making sure he contuses you.

Don’t know what it feels like to be raped? You will.
