Since it is Valentine’s Day, here’s some more about love and hate…

Chris Matthews wonders what Obama would have to do to prove to the far right that he loves America. The panel responds that there isn’t. But I think there is something Obama could do.

He could hate.

The far right measures love for America only in terms of whom you hate and how much you hate them.

Do you hate the French? Europe? No? Then you don’t love America.

Do you hate Muslims? No? Then you don’t love America.

(That’s why right-wingers think Obama is a secret Muslim. He must be, or he’d hate Muslims like all “real” Americans do.)

Do you hate anyone, here and abroad, who criticizes America, or dares to point out our shortcomings? No?

Then you don’t love America.

Obama doesn’t seem to really hate anyone.

And that’s why they hate him.
