It’s easier to be happy about little things than not.

Sometimes the little things are all you’ve got.

Like the song says, we get what we need,

But we’re often unhappy when our wants the former exceed.

Happiness isn’t measured in how much we’ve spent.

We don’t need to have everything we want to be content.

We don’t need another purchase, or another distraction.

The greatest happiness is just…

Satisfaction.

Here’s the classic You Can’t Always Get What You Want by the Rolling Stones. I used to sing this to my daughters when they were little and wanted something that we couldn’t (or didn’t want to) give them.

Here’s the studio version and your theme music for today. I usually like live versions better because of the energy, but in this case I prefer the studio one (I like the choral section).

And here’s the Stones’ Satisfaction (which Rolling Stone magazine rated the second best rock song of all time, after Dylan’s Like a Rolling Stone) from the TV show “Shindig” on 9/16/1965.
