Ballots Versus Bullets
November 10th, 2010
Inspired by Incoming congressman Allen West taps outspoken Fla. radio host as chief of staff, WashingtonPost.com 11/09/10) and Rachel’s report (watch it below) on new Congressman Allen West’s chief of staff Joyce Kaufman, who proudly expressed her plan to take to the hills and form militias if Republicans didn’t win the election.
“If ballots don’t work, bullets will… When I say I’ll put my microphone down on November 2 if we haven’t achieved substantial victory, I mean it. Because at that point, I’m going to go up into the hills of Kentucky, I’m gonna go out into the Midwest, I’m going to go out into the Vermont and New Hampshire outer reaches, and I’m gonna gather together men and women who understand that some things are worth fighting for and some things are worth dying for.” – conservative radio host and new Congressman Allen West’s chief of staff Joyce Kaufman “What’s been working in Washington has not been working. Things need to be different.” – Allen West campaign manager Josh Grodin defending Kaufman’s “outspoken style” (and here I hadn’t even realized that the problem in DC was not enough incitement and threats of violence)When you talk about looking forward to a “bird’s eye view” of Washington,
Do you mean the one through the scope of your high powered gun?
You say you’re willing to die,
Though you never really explained exactly why.
What you really mean is that you’re willing to kill,
And if you don’t get your way, then you will.
I guess that since the GOP and Allen West were victorious
You won’t have to seek out that murderous martyrdom glorious.
I guess that we get a reprieve, for now
From your treason threatening violent vow.
But I still find your talk about fighting and killing
Chilling.

Here’s Rachel’s 11/09/10 report on new Congressman Allen West and his chief of staff Joyce Kaufman, a local far right radio host who reaffirmed her willingness to die (and assumedly kill) if her man wasn’t elected. He was, so I guess she won’t be heading to the hills with her gun as she threatened. And by the way, Kaufman (who hosted West on her show several hundred times) plans to keep her radio job while serving as West’s chief of staff.
